OCALA, FL (352today.com) – A vehicle fire inside a multi-story parking garage at AdventHealth’s employee parking lot was contained to the originating vehicle on the morning of Friday, April 17, 2026, with no injuries reported, according to Ocala Fire Rescue.
Firefighters were dispatched at 6:38 a.m. to 250 SW 11th St. after reports of a vehicle fire inside the garage. Upon arrival, crews found gray smoke on the east side of the third floor and a four-door Kia engulfed in flames, with the fire originating in the engine compartment before spreading to the passenger area.
Firefighters deployed hose lines from a standpipe system to attack the blaze, while additional crews assisted with ventilation and search operations. Officials said all occupants had evacuated the structure prior to firefighters’ arrival.
The fire was extinguished within six minutes of water being applied to the vehicle. A passerby also used fire extinguishers before crews arrived, helping limit the spread.
Two adjacent vehicles sustained minor heat damage. Firefighters later used thermal imaging cameras to check for remaining hot spots and deployed ventilation fans to clear smoke and improve visibility in the structure.
Ocala Fire Rescue said the fire was contained to the vehicle of origin. No injuries were reported among civilians or firefighters.
