OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Marion County residents could see more efficient government services and better use of their tax dollars thanks to a new resolution passed by the Board of County Commissioners.
On Tuesday, commissioners unanimously backed a statewide initiative led by Governor Ron DeSantis aimed at improving government operations and cutting wasteful spending. The resolution supports Executive Order 2025-44, which calls for counties across Florida to work with the newly formed Department of Governmental Efficiency (EOG DOGE).
Locally, this means a push toward eliminating outdated programs, streamlining operations, and ensuring public funds are used responsibly.

“This resolution reflects Marion County’s continued dedication to transparency and our board’s commitment to fiscal responsibility,” said Commission Chairman Kathy Bryant. “We stand with the State of Florida in ensuring that local governments operate efficiently and in the best interest of our taxpayers.”
As part of the effort, Marion County will grant the state team access to records and operations for review, while working to adopt recommended reforms that could improve day-to-day services like permitting, infrastructure, and community programs.
