MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – On Saturday, May 16, 2026, Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies began investigating the disappearance of 43-year-old Andres Bahamon-Prada. A family member advised he had not been seen since May 7, 2026. During the investigation, deputies located evidence that foul play may be involved in his disappearance, so this incident is now being investigated as a homicide.
On Monday, May 18, 2026, MCSO Major Crimes detectives responded to 2180 NW 225th Avenue in Dunnellon to continue their investigation. While at the home, male human remains were discovered on the property. Detectives are still working to identify the remains positively.
At this point in the investigation, detectives have developed the missing man’s 25-year-old son, Andres Bahamon, as a person of interest in his disappearance. Based on information gathered at this time, Bahamon was arrested on May 18 for Tampering with Evidence in the missing person investigation.
Detectives also learned that Bahamon-Prada’s silver 2007 Infinity M35 is also unaccounted for. They believe that his vehicle may contain important evidence in this investigation.
