OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Marion County is inviting the community to wear teal and participate in its annual PTSD Awareness Walk on Saturday, June 27, 2026, to show support for those affected by post-traumatic stress disorder.

The free community event will take place from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at the McPherson Governmental Campus, 601 SE 25th Ave. in Ocala. Participants are encouraged to walk the 2.2-mile route while helping raise awareness and reduce the stigma surrounding PTSD.

According to Marion County, the event serves as a visible display of support for individuals living with PTSD, a condition that affects an estimated 8 million adults in the United States each year. PTSD can develop after experiencing or witnessing traumatic events, including military combat, abuse, assault, violence or the demanding experiences faced by first responders. County officials say community members can show their support by walking, running, wearing teal or simply helping spread awareness that those living with PTSD are not alone.

Commemorative PTSD Awareness Walk T-shirts are available for $25 and can be purchased online through Marion County. A limited number of shirts will also be available for purchase during Saturday’s event.
