LEVY COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – A Morriston man who’s been in the Levy County Detention Center since early June on charges relating to possession of child sexual abuse material (CASM) has now also been charged with two counts of capital sexual battery on a child under 12.
According to an announcement by the Levy County Sheriff’s Office, 37-year-old Peter Jacobs was arrested on June 9, 2026, and charged with 14 counts of possession of CASM after an investigation that began in February of this year.
The investigation into Jacobs continued after his arrest. While he was still in detention on a $350,000 bond, LCSO Criminal Investigations Division collected enough evidence to further charge Jacobs with two counts of capital sexual battery on a child under 12.
Jacobs’ bail has subsequently been revoked, and he remains in detention with no bond pending his trial.
“The Levy County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to aggressively investigating crimes against children and working with our law enforcement partners to ensure offenders are held accountable,” the announcement read. “We recognize the tremendous courage it takes for victims to come forward, and we remain dedicated to seeking justice on their behalf. Cases do not always end with the arrest of the perpetrator. Detectives continue to investigate to ensure all crimes have been uncovered and appropriately charged.”
All suspects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in court.
