SUMTER COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Ocala and Marion County commuters traveling north on Interstate 75 should prepare for nightly lane closures in Sumter County from April 6-10 and April 13-17. The closures will take place between County Road 462 and County Road 475 on Sunday through Thursday nights.
Single-lane closures will be in place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., while double-lane closures will run from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) says the closures are necessary for lane striping work as part of a larger I-75 auxiliary lane project.

The improvements are part of the Moving Florida Forward Infrastructure Initiative and span about 30 miles between State Road (S.R.) 44 in Sumter County and S.R. 326 in Marion County. Planned upgrades include additional auxiliary lanes and interchange improvements at S.R. 326 and S.R. 40.
FDOT asks that drivers slow down, follow posted signs, and be cautious in work zones. Construction schedules may change due to weather or other factors. For more information, visit fdot.gov/movingfloridaforward.
