OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Social media accounts erupted around midday on Sunday, May 10, 2026, concerning a lockdown and heavy police presence at Paddock Mall, located at 3100 SW College Rd. in Ocala.
According to a subsequent social media post by the Ocala Police Department, the agency initially responded to a shooting call at the mall. During the lockdown and investigation, it was determined that a firearm was brandished during an argument between two individuals, but no shots were fired.
“The incident remains under investigation,” read an update to the announcement, in part, at 2:47 p.m. “No arrests have been made at this time. The mall will remain closed for the remainder of the business day. OPD will maintain a presence on scene for security.”
