ST. PETERSBURG, FL (352today.com) – The College of Central Florida (CF) Patriot softball team swept a key doubleheader at St. Petersburg College on Tuesday, rallying from behind in game one for a 7-6 win and powering through game two for a 13-6 victory. The sweep gives CF the season series over St. Pete.
Trailing 6-2 in the opener, the Pats clawed back, scoring three in the sixth to take the lead. Sarah Stewart’s RBI single tied it, and Bailey Holmes drove in the go-ahead run with a single to right. Holmes finished with three hits, three runs scored, and two stolen bases. Morgyn Stevens earned her eighth win of the season in the circle.

Game two saw an offensive explosion with 19 hits from the Patriots. Leah Clark and Holmes led the charge with four hits apiece, while Madison VanAllen and Hayley Turner added three each. Hailey Pyle notched the win, working 5.2 innings and allowing six runs, three earned.
With the sweep, CF improved to 10-18 in Citrus Conference play and 19-24 overall. The Patriots return home Tuesday, April 15, for a doubleheader against Hillsborough beginning at 2 p.m.
