OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Three people were transported to nearby hospitals after an ambulance rollover crash on Interstate 75 northbound in Ocala on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, according to Ocala Fire Rescue.
The crash occurred around 5 p.m. near mile marker 354 and involved two personal vehicles and an American Ambulance medical transport van.
Ocala Fire Rescue crews responded to the scene and found the ambulance overturned on its side following the collision. Engine 1, Rescue 1, Squad 1, Battalion Chief 22 and a safety officer were dispatched to the incident. Marion County Fire Rescue, the Florida Highway Patrol and Road Rangers also responded to the scene.
Officials said passersby helped remove the patient and two transport personnel from the overturned ambulance before first responders arrived.
The two left lanes of Interstate 75 northbound remained blocked until approximately 6:30 p.m., causing significant traffic delays in the area.
All three occupants of the ambulance were transported to local hospitals for further evaluation. No other injuries were reported.
