GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – Just weeks after leading the Florida Gators to a national basketball championship, head coach Todd Golden has secured a significant raise and long-term commitment from the university.
Golden signed a six-year, $40.5 million contract extension Tuesday, which boosts his annual salary to $6 million starting April 16, 2025. The new deal adds a year to his current contract, keeping him at the helm through the 2030-31 season.
This marks the second extension for Golden in just over a year. In March 2024, he agreed to a two-year extension that increased his average pay to $4.1 million annually. The latest agreement reflects Florida’s confidence in Golden’s leadership and its investment in keeping the championship-winning coach in Gainesville for the foreseeable future.
Under the terms of the extension, Golden’s salary will increase by $300,000 each year, positioning him just behind football coach Billy Napier, who is set to earn $7.4 million in 2025.
