DUNNELLON, FL (352today.com) – A Michigan woman was arrested on a DUI charge Tuesday night after Marion County deputies found her unconscious behind the wheel of a running SUV parked in a traffic lane at a Dunnellon shopping center.

Deputies responded around 9:40 p.m. June 2, 2026, to a report of a serious traffic infraction near Murphy’s Gas Station on N. Williams Street. Upon arriving, Deputy Roger Paige observed a gray Ford Escape parked in the middle of a traffic lane in the Walmart parking lot with its engine running, lights on and transmission in park.

The driver, identified as 39-year-old Alycia Lorraine Martin of Michigan, was seated behind the wheel with her seatbelt fastened and appeared unconscious. After multiple attempts to get her attention, deputies were able to wake her.

Investigators reported that Martin showed signs of impairment, including slurred speech, watery eyes, a strong odor of alcohol and difficulty maintaining her balance. Marion County Fire Rescue personnel responded and determined she was not experiencing a medical emergency.

Martin agreed to participate in field sobriety exercises but reportedly showed multiple signs of impairment and was unable to successfully complete some of the tests.

Deputies arrested Martin and transported her to the Marion County Jail. There, she provided breath samples measuring 0.290 and 0.286. Florida’s legal limit is 0.08.

Martin was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level of 0.15 or higher or with a person under 18 in the vehicle, a misdemeanor offense under Florida law. No additional information was provided in the arrest report regarding the minor.
