The city says it miscalculated the rolled-back millage rate. The difference amounts to $2.36 more in ad valorem taxes for each $100,000 in assessed property value.

25-year-old Theriyus Leequina Banks, the final defendant in a 2022 case, has accepted a plea deal and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Banks joins three others serving sentences ranging from 10 to 15 years.
Police arrested Juanquavious Jackson. They say he entered a Zaxby’s, pointed his gun at multiple employees, fired it and stole money from the restaurant.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office says Matthew Davis was last seen leaving his home in Dunnellon Wednesday afternoon.
