OCALA, FL (352today.com) – According to multiple local and regional news outlets, Niagara Bottling is closing the Ocala water production plant it acquired from Silver Springs Bottled Water Co. just a year ago, and laying off the plant’s remaining 57 employees.
A report by Ocala-News.com stated that the company submitted a letter of Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) to the Florida Department of Commerce and Ocala Mayor Ben Marciano’s office on October 31, 2026, confirming the closure of the plant due to “organizational restructuring.”
Niagara Bottling water company, headquartered in Diamond Bar, CA., roughly 2,100 miles from Niagara, NY, bought the Silver Springs Bottled Water Co. at 2445 NW 42nd St. in September 2025, and laid off 85 workers last October.
This latest round of layoffs, reportedly effective at the end of the year, comprises the rest of the plant’s remaining staff.
Interestingly, Niagara Bottling representatives contacted Ocala-News.com in March 2026 to request a correction about a Feb. 28 story, claiming that the plant was not shutting down, but rather would continue to operate with a reduced workforce.
