OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The city of Ocala is looking for local artists to showcase their talents in more ways than one.
The city is inviting visual artists to apply to paint double-sided metal street panels live during the 2024 Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series.

The panels are eight-feet tall by four-feet wide and once complete will replace the current panels located at the Ocala Skate Park.
The city says artists whose designs are accepted must be able to paint during from 6 to 9 p.m. on Fridays during the concert series which lasts 10 weeks. Artists will choose their number of appearances at the concert series.
The city says the opportunity is open to artists currently working and residing in Marion County, and the surrounding North Central Florida counties including:
- Alachua
- Citrus
- Flagler
- Lake
- Levy
- Orange
- Putnam
- Sumter
- Volusia
It is free to apply.
“All designs will be approved before the start of the 2024 Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series to ensure the artwork will be family-friendly, non-political, and without copyright infringement,” said the city in a news release.
The city says accepted artists or art groups will receive a $250 honorarium after the concert series.

The deadline to apply is Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024, at 11:59 p.m.
The city says the public art initiative is a partnership with Marion Cultural Alliance, the Ocala Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Commission, and Ocala Juneteenth Celebration Commission.
