MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is investigating a traffic accident that killed a 25-year-old sanitation worker.
Troopers say the accident happened around 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
FHP says the sanitation crew was picking up garbage on SE 108 Terrace in the Spruce Creek subdivision when the accident happened.
Troopers say the 25-year-old male sanitation employee was hit by the truck while loading garbage and died on the scene.
FHP says a 63-year-old man was driving the garbage truck.
