MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Two motorcycle riders are dead following a crash with an SUV.
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) says the accident happened around 10 p.m. on Friday when a motorcycle was traveling east on State Road (SR) 25 approaching SE 104th Trail.
Troopers say an SUV traveling north on SE 104th Trail turned left onto SR 25 and into the path of the motorcycle and the motorcycle driver was unable to react in time to avoid a colliding with the SUV.
FHP says the motorcyclist and a passenger were thrown from the bike and pronounced dead at the scene.
The victims are a 25-year-old man from Ocklawaha and a 22-year-old woman from Anthony. Both were wearing helmets.
FHP says the driver of the SUV is a 52-year-old woman from Belleview. They say she was transported to Ocala Regional Medical to be treated for serious injuries.
