OCALA, FL (352today.com) – It’s more than an apple for the teacher, it’s a way to say thanks.
HCA Florida Ocala Hospital and HCA West Marion Hospital and the Public Education Foundation of Marion County (PEFMC) are doing something to recognize teachers for their dedication and commitment to education, through the launch of the Thank a Teacher program.
Each month a special teacher will be selected to be showcased on social media for their efforts and the educator will receive $250.
“We are truly appreciative of the partnership with HCA Florida Healthcare for providing this opportunity for parents, community members and students to nominate and acknowledge educators who have a positive influence on students’ lives every day,” said Meghan Magamoll, PEFMC executive director. “Teachers deserve praise all year long, not just during the dedicated Teacher Appreciation Week, and this is our chance as a community to come together and thank a teacher.”
Nominations for the program started this month. To nominate a teacher for the monthly award, just go online and fill out the form or use the QR code below.

It’s an opportunity for students, family and staff members to nominate their favorite teacher, and provide those genuine and touching stories about educators who through their teaching, inspirational and motivational words, creative lesson plans and positive influence, made a significant difference in the lives of their students.
The teachers who are selected will receive an email with those heartfelt messages, that are sure to warm the recipient’s heart.
“We are thankful for the continued partnership with the Public Education Foundation of Marion County and look forward to helping students and parents recognize the impact teachers make on the students and our community,” said Alan Keesee, HCA Florida Ocala Hospital CEO.
The winners will be announced at the end of each month during the 2024-25 school year. In addition to the $250 award, the teacher will be treated to a meal with their co-workers.
