MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Duke Energy Florida is nearly done building two new facilities and transmission lines in Marion County. This project aims to improve the electric grid and increase reliability. The new lines will link Williston North to Martin West and Martin West to Silver Springs.

For the remainder of September. a helicopter will help replace equipment along the lines. This work will mostly happen on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m352today.com., but it could extend past 5 p.m. sometimes. Remember that weather and other surprises might cause delays.

People living nearby, drivers, and walkers may notice a helicopter in the sky, which could cause short traffic delays. Drivers should prepare for some road and lane closures, and everyone is urged to be careful in these spots for their own safety and the safety of the workers. Please plan for extra travel time.

  • NE 21st Street – Stopped traffic less than 5 minutes while flying over road.
  • NE 25th Avenue – Stopped traffic less than 5 minutes while flying over road.
  • NE 35th Street – Stopped traffic less than 5 minutes while flying over road.
  • NE 36th Avenue – Stopped traffic less than 5 minutes while flying over road.
  • NE 42nd Place – Stopped traffic less than 5 minutes while flying over road.
  • NE Jacksonville Road – Stopped traffic less than 5 minutes while flying over road.
  • W Anthony Road – Stopped traffic less than 5 minutes while flying over road.
  • NW 70th Road – Stopped traffic less than 5 minutes while flying over road.
  • NW 99th Street – Stopped traffic less than 5 minutes while flying over road.

The work will mostly take place during the day, from Monday to Friday, between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. However, in some cases, it may extend past 5 p.m. Please be aware that weather and other unexpected issues could cause delays.
