DIXIE COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Law enforcement was active Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024, along US 19 and east of Chavous Rd. in Cross City.
The Dixie County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) stresses that the incident was not related to Dixie County schools. DCSO says it requested the school district to change the routes of several buses that stop in that area for the safety of the students on board.
DCSO received tips that Tyler Storm Parrish, who has multiple criminal charges against him, was nearby. After a thorough search, they found that Parrish was no longer in the vicinity.

Parrish has four active warrants from Dixie County for various charges:
Warrant 1:
- fleeing a police officer: reckless driving
- grand theft of a motor vehicle
- possession of a controlled substance: methamphetamine
- possession of a controlled substance: buprenorphine
- drug paraphernalia use or possession
- driving while license suspended
Warrant 2:
- fleeing police officer: reckless driving
Warrant 3:
- dealing in stolen property: trafficking
Warrant 4:
- driving while license suspended habitual offender

Original story, 9.19.24 at 6:41 p.m.: The Dixie County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) says that there is a heavy law enforcement presence in the area of 24603 SE Highway 19 in Cross City.
They also mention in their Facebook post that Dixie District School buses numbered 17 and 40 were taken to Dixie County High School for student pickup.
