LEVY COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – A passenger was last reported in serious condition after she was involved in a wreck in Levy County Thursday afternoon.
What happened
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reports that a 53-year-old woman from Trenton was driving north on County Road (CR) 345 in a Chevy Trailblazer. She reportedly moved into the southbound lane to pass a car ahead of her. After returning to the northbound lane, FHP states she lost control, crossed the center line, and hit the front of a Lexus driven by a 61-year-old Gainesville man in the southbound lane.
After the impact, FHP says that the Trailblazer spun to the left and tipped over onto its right side, ending up on the east side of CR 345. They say the Lexus stopped on the west side of CR 345.
One person was seriously hurt
While both drivers suffered non-life-threatening injuries, FHP says that the passenger of the Trailblazer, identified by FHP as a 23-year-old Trenton man, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
