OCALA, FL (352today.com) – We’ve enjoyed a relatively quiet September – so far.
With September coming to an end, and the fall equinox already in place, most of the country is already starting to see cooler temperatures. Not so much here in the 352.
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has noted that there are scattered showers and thunderstorms in the western Caribbean Sea and parts of Central America, linked to a large area of low pressure. Conditions seem good for this system to slowly develop over the next few days. Certainly not what any of us wants to hear.
The NHC says that a tropical depression may form as the system moves northward across the northwestern Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico by the end of the week. We could still see heavy rainfall later this week if it does not develop, says the NHC.
At this time, the NHC indicates a low (10%) chance of formation in the next 48 hours, but a higher (70%) chance over the next week.
What does that mean for us?
Regardless of formation, summer isn’t quite over in the 352. Memes are already circulating on social media addressing the continuation of summer.
