OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has its eye on another tropical system.

The NHC says that Tropical Depression 12 (TD12) has developed in the western part of the new tropical wave area. It is likely to strengthen into a major hurricane by the end of the week and will move northeast into the Atlantic Ocean. According the NHC, TD12 is currently not expected to pose a threat to the United States.

At 4 a.m., the NHC says that the center of TD12 was located near latitude 14.0 North, longitude 34.1 West. The depression is heading west at about 8 mph, and it is expected to keep moving west to west-northwest until Tuesday. By Wednesday, it should start turning northwest. The maximum sustained winds are around 35 mph, with stronger gusts.
