OCALA, FL (352today.com) – As holiday festivities ramp up, AAA is stepping in to ensure the roads stay safe and motorists receive assistance when needed. Starting Tuesday evening, the Auto Club Group will activate its popular “Tow to Go” program across Florida and select states, offering a lifesaving option for impaired drivers.
“If you’re faced with the decision of driving impaired, put down those keys and pick up the phone to call Tow to Go,” says Mark Jenkins, spokesperson for AAA – The Auto Club Group. “AAA will then send a truck to take you and your vehicle to a safe location within a 10-mile radius.”
The program runs from 6 p.m. on Dec. 24 to 6 a.m. on Jan. 2. Available to both members and non-members, the service provides a confidential ride for one person and their vehicle to a secure destination. AAA emphasizes that Tow to Go is a backup plan, urging partygoers to identify a designated driver or use ride-sharing services beforehand.
AAA’s technicians anticipate a busy holiday season, with an estimated 860,000 drivers expected to call for roadside assistance due to car trouble. For those who fail to plan, Tow to Go acts as a vital last resort.
For service, you can call (855) 2-TOW-2-GO or (855) 286-9246.
Since its inception more than 25 years ago, Tow to Go has helped remove over 30,000 impaired drivers from the road. However, availability may be limited in rural areas or during severe weather conditions.
AAA reminds everyone to celebrate responsibly this holiday season. By planning ahead, the organization hopes to reduce the need for emergency services while making the roads safer for everyone.
