Crews quickly deployed a hoseline and forced entry through the front door, encountering thick black smoke that had banked down to the floor. Additional units from Rolling Greens Station #28 and Belleview Station #18 arrived to assist in extinguishing the blaze and conducting primary and secondary searches of the home.

Neighbors informed firefighters that two dogs and a cat were inside the residence. Crews located and rescued the dogs, Oreo and Bella, and administered oxygen to treat them for smoke inhalation. The cat was later confirmed to be inside the garage, away from the fire’s reach.

Fortunately, no one was home at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries reported. Firefighters declared the fire under control at 3:35 p.m.

The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.
