BELLEVIEW, FL (352today.com) – The City of Belleview is partnering with local Lions Clubs and LifeSouth Community Blood Center for a Health Screening Day on March 19, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Belleview Community Center.

This free event offers vision and blood glucose screenings for all ages, along with vital health information.

Health Screenings & Education

The Eastport Lions Club will provide vision screenings, while the Orange Blossom Gardens Lions Club of Lady Lake will conduct blood glucose screenings to aid in early diabetes detection. โ€œDiabetes is often called a silent condition because many people donโ€™t realize they have it until complications arise,โ€ explained Barbara Crewell, club president. โ€œThis is why screenings like these are so importantโ€”they can save lives.โ€

LifeSouth Blood Drive

LifeSouth will host a blood drive, urging eligible donors to contribute. โ€œGiving blood is one of the simplest and most impactful ways to give back to your community,โ€ said a LifeSouth representative. โ€œYour generosity can mean the difference between life and death for someone in need.โ€

Community Impact

โ€œAs Lions, weโ€™ve made it our mission to fight preventable blindness and improve access to vision care,โ€ said Eastport Lion Chris Culberson. Vision screenings help detect conditions like glaucoma and cataracts, especially important for childrenโ€™s development.

โ€œThis Health Screening Day is about creating a healthier, stronger community,โ€ said Robert Vass, Belleviewโ€™s Events and Promotions Manager. โ€œI encourage everyone to attendโ€”your health is worth it. And while youโ€™re here, donate blood with our friends at LifeSouth and make a truly positive impact.โ€
