The incident occurred on February 26, 2025, when Thomas and Williams lured the victim to a secluded park near the Silver Springs Shores Country Club in Ocala. Once there, Smith ambushed the victim, striking him with a firearm while the others joined in the attack. The trio robbed the victim and fled, leaving him seriously injured until a passerby provided help.
Investigators linked the suspects to the “Getlow” gang, based in Silver Springs Shores, which may lead to sentencing enhancements. Thomas and Williams, both juveniles, were direct-filed as adults on March 13, 2025, and remain held without bond at the Marion County Jail. Smith was arrested on March 14, 2025, and is also being held without bond.
MCSO continues its investigation into the case.
