OCALA, FL (352today.com) – HITS has announced major plans to invest in the Ocala facility, promising to bring a new level of enjoyment to competitors and spectators. This appears to indicate increased demand for equine events in Marion County.
HITS is an Upstate New York-based showjumping and dressage producer with six venues nationwide, including Ocala, the ‘Horse Capital of the World.’ They came here in 1985 and purchased Post Time Farm in 2002.
HITS says all six venues will undergo a multi-year improvement project, but Ocala equestrians will see a great difference in one of the county’s longest standing competition venues.
In March of 2022, after 40 years of leadership under founder Thomas G. Struzzieri, HITS was acquired by Traub Capital Partners. The new management team says it plans to revitalize VIP experiences, host unique and high-end horse shows, and improve the physical facilities.
“These changes will continue to showcase HITS’ dedication to its exhibitors, putting the horses first every step of the way,” HITS said in a release on its website.
HITS says phase two of improvements at Post Time Farm in Ocala will include creating another premier ring at the venue to showcase hunters, jumpers and equitation. “This central location on the property will allow exhibitors to showcase their skills in a premier arena,” HITS announced in late September.
The company says stabling received upgrades, with new LED lighting and tent pads installed. HITS also says there’s refreshed footing in all the arenas and a new layout to improve the flow of the venue.
“HITS’ specific goal for Ocala is to make it a premium destination for equestrian enthusiasts,” said Peter Englehart, President & CEO of HITS, speaking about plans of updated branding, customer relationships, and goals to rise in the marketplace positioning.
HITS has scheduled two holiday shows in December. The Ocala Holiday Premiere M&S Gold Star Horse Show will be Friday, Dec. 1 through Sunday, Dec. 3. The Ocala Holiday Classic featuring the HITS Hunter Showcase is on the calendar for Wednesday, Dec. 13, through Sunday, Dec. 17.
The annual 10-week Winter Circuit kicks off in mid-January.
