Florida Highway Patrol says a 66-year-old motorcyclist died after colliding with a sedan turning into a gas station near NE 140th Court.
LEVY COUNTY, FL (352today.com) โ A 66-year-old Williston man was killed Saturday night in a crash involving a motorcycle and a sedan at the intersection of US 27-Alt and NE 140th Court, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 9:50 p.m. when a sedan driven by a 26-year-old Bronson man was heading south on NE 140th Court. At the same time, a maroon trike motorcycle was traveling south on US 27-Alt, approaching the same intersection.
Troopers say the sedan crossed the northbound lanes of US 27-Alt through a median break and attempted to continue across the southbound lanes to turn into the Marathon gas station. As it entered the intersection, the motorcycle collided with the passenger side of the sedan.
The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to UF Health where he was later pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation.
