SUMTER COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The C 466 and C 475N Roundabout Project is entering its third and final phase of construction, marking a significant milestone toward completion. Beginning the night of Monday, Feb. 9, 2026, the roundabout became fully operational for drivers, enabling a continuous traffic flow and improved roadway safety. The last phase of construction will include the installation of streetlights near the roads and is expected to last approximately three to four weeks.
“This project continues to move forward thanks to careful planning and coordination of our Public Works Department and our construction partners,” said Sumter County’s Public Works Director Deborah Snyder. “This final phase brings us closer to delivering long-term roadway improvements that will enhance safety, mobility, and reliability for all travelers.”
The County appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as the project nears completion and asks all drivers to consider the driving tips below to ensure everyone’s safety on the road. Additionally, drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time to adjust to the new road design.
- Slow down when approaching the roundabout.
- Pay close attention to roadway signage, pavement markings, and other vehicles.
- Yield to traffic circulating within the roundabout.
- Remain alert for construction equipment and workers in the area.
This project and other road projects in the county are funded by taxes collected at the gas pump. To inform the public about current and upcoming road and facility projects, Sumter County recently launched a Project Tracker tool, available on the website. Click here to learn more.
