The National Weather Service (NWS) of Jacksonville issued an excessive heat warning for the city of Ocala, as well as Gainesville and other surrounding cities/counties. The watch remains in effect from Monday morning at 11 a.m. until Monday evening around 8 p.m.

The NWS predicts extremely hot conditions with a possible heat index value up to 114.

They are encouraging you to drink plenty of fluids and to take extra precautions if you plan to work or spend any time outside. Along with drinking fluids, they are also encouraging everyone to check up on any neighbors or family members.
