WILDWOOD, FL (352today.com) – The City of Wildwood announced that the portion of North Warfield Avenue between Osceola Avenue and Barwick Street will undergo temporary closures beginning Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

The purpose of the work is to install storm drainage infrastructure. It’s part of Wildwood’s ongoing Barwick Street Rehabilitation project, which includes “roadway reconstruction, drainage improvements, utility upgrades, and restoration work designed to reduce localized flooding, improve stormwater drainage, replace aging underground utilities, and extend the roadway’s lifespan,” according to the announcement.

The closure is expected to take approximately two weeks. Residents, first responders and other essential services will retain local access while the work is going on. Other commuters and motorists are advised to follow posted detour signs and allow additional time to reach their destinations.
