MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, the voters of Marion County and around the 352 will decide who moves on to our great nation’s midterm elections this November.

(That’s kinda one of the big things that makes our nation so great.)

In an effort to do what we can to keep our community informed as we all strive to build and shape the region’s future together, we’ve put together a special section that will keep growing from the primaries right through the November general election.

With stories on everything from how local campaign finance works to the current state of mail-in voting and beyond hope our 2026 Community Election Guide makes a useful companion as we head to the polls this year. Democracy is a participatory sport–it only works if you work it, as they say, and the representatives we choose during the midterms could make a much more immediate impact at the local level than some of the decisions we’ll make in 2028.

We’d also like to thank our sponsors for this special section: All American Air & Electric and CERV LAW, PLLC. As an ad-supported local news outlet, we depend on our partners to help us bring you free, unbiased and useful stories.
