OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for parts of Marion County through the Alert Marion System.
The warning is in effect until 10:30 p.m., and covers an area from downtown Ocala to the east and southeast, including the Fort King District, nearly to Silver Springs and Baseline Trailhead Park.
Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have already fallen in some areas, and that’s more than enough for a car to be carried off a roadway; another 1 to 2 inches is expected.

Residents are advised to stay off the road until the warning expires.
