SUMTER COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Sumter County Board of County Commissioners is making it easier than ever for residents to stay informed and engaged with their local government through the launch of livestreaming services. Now, people can tune into bi-monthly Board of County Commissioners meetings, formal workshops, and committee meetings from the comfort of their own home to follow along with the issues and decisions affecting their community.

Livestreaming provides residents with greater access to:

  • Board discussions and decisions
  • Public hearings and community input
  • Presentations and updates from county departments
  • Important projects, policies, and initiatives

Transparency and public participation are essential to effective local government. By bringing board meetings online, Sumter County is expanding access and creating another opportunity for residents to see their government at work and stay informed about their community.

Residents who plan to speak during Public Forum or a Public Hearing may submit digital presentation materials in advance for display on the projection screens during the meeting and livestream.

To submit materials, email PDF documents to records@sumtercountyfl.gov by noon the day before the meeting and include:

  • The meeting name
  • Your first and last name
  • Your address
  • The Public Hearing title or case number, or indicate your materials are for Public Forum

Please note: Presentation materials become part of the public record. Materials may be displayed during the livestream and archived with the meeting recording. Files blocked by the county’s email security system cannot be accepted. Presenters are encouraged to confirm receipt with Administrative Services after submitting their materials. Hard-copy presentation materials may still be used and will be retained as part of the official meeting record.
