GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – The Gators football team’s regular season is coming to an end. They’ll be looking to end it on a good note.
With only two games left in the season who happen to be the ranked University of Missouri and Florida State University, whether Florida will end with a winning record is questionable.
The Gators are set to face the Mizzou Tigers Saturday evening in Columbia, Missouri. Florida is looking to come back from a 52-35 loss against the other Tigers (LSU).
“This is an important game, and there’s going to be a lot of things that are important. Obviously, turnover margin. Big plays. First down efficiency. This is about playing high-level football and executing at a high level,” said Napier in reference to Saturday’s game.
The last time the Gators faced Mizzou, they were able to come out with a 24-17 victory in the Swamp. According to Florida’s program, both teams are tied 6-6 for the all-time series record.
It’ll be senior night for the Tigers and head coach Eliah Drinkwitz says his team’s mindset has to be 1-0 despite their huge 36-7 win over Tennessee.
“Florida’s a very talented team, they have a very talented roster much like they always do, and they’re very efficient in what they do offensively and defensively,” said Drinkwitz.
Drinkwitz credited Florida quarterback Graham Mertz for his talent and says that plays a major role in Florida’s improvement in efficiency since last year.
It’s the last road game for the Gators and they’ll be looking to bring home a victory. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. eastern time and you can watch it on ESPN.
