OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Kenny’s Place Nursery has been helping and supporting adults with disabilities in the Ocala region for more than 30 years, and for the last couple, the nonprofit has been staging the Fun Olympics, which bring together folks from other nonprofits with encouraging friends, families and peers.
“This year, we are excited to welcome participants from Kenny’s Place Nursery, Transitions Life Center, ARC of Marion County, and Bridge to Hope,” read an announcement from Kenny’s Place, in part. “Together, we will enjoy fun, accessible games that encourage participation, teamwork, and success for everyone.”
Previous Field Day-style competition games played at Fun Olympics include Pool Noodle Joust, the Egg-in-a-Spoon Race, and Fly Swatter Golf, just to give an idea of the laid-back, fun and skill-building events that will transpire. And, of course, all participants will receive a medal and ribbons.
This year’s Fun Olympics take place on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. Doors open at 9:30 a.m., with games beginning at 10.
“This event is about much more than games,” the announcement read. “It is about inclusion, belonging, friendship, confidence, and celebrating abilities. It is an opportunity to recognize the importance of creating a community where every individual is valued, supported, and given the opportunity to shine.”
Kenny’s Place Nursery is located at 7677 SE 41st Ct., Ocala.
