OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Ocala police arrested a 34-year-old teacher at Ocala Christian Academy on Tuesday after getting a tip the man had taken “upskirt” photos of a student.
The OPD received a tip on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, that led to a witness stating they had seen Joel Gould of Belleview “hold his phone underneath a student’s skirt while the student stood on a picnic table beside him” the previous Friday, Oct. 23, according to a social media post by the Ocala Police Department.
The victim’s parent contacted OPD after the allegations came to light. OPD detectives interviewed Gould, who admitted to taking the photos.
Gould was arrested and charged with Digital Voyeurism, which is nominally a third-degree felony offense, but authorities were able to secure a second-degree felony charge due to Gould’s position of authority over the victim. Gould was taken to the Marion County Jail.
The OPD believes there may be other victims.
“Anyone with information about Gould or who may have experienced inappropriate contact involving him is encouraged to contact the Ocala Police Department at 352-369-7000,” read the statement.
