TALLAHASSEE, FL (352today.com) – Once again, the Florida Highway Patrol is teaming up with local food banks and other charitable organizations across the Sunshine State for its monthlong “Stuff the Charger” food donation drive.

Donations of nonperishable food can be dropped off at any FHP troop headquarters—like the one at 600 SE 25th Avenue in Ocala—throughout the month of November.

Needed and recommended items

  • Canned goods like tinned meat, sweet potatoes, vegetables and fruits
  • Dried goods like stuffing, instant potatoes, rice, oatmeal, etc.
  • Other nonperishables like nuts, broth, evaporated milk, etc.

“Service is at the heart of everything we do,” said Dave Kerner, executive director of Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles and director of FHP, in an announcement. “The ‘Stuff the Charger’ food drive is another way we can stand with our communities and support families who need a little extra help this season, especially following Hurricane Isaias. We encourage Floridians to join us in making a meaningful impact.”
