BELLEVIEW, FL (352today.com) – The City of Belleview has announced that Public Works employees Fisher Houston, Henry Somarriba, and Ronald Everett have successfully earned their Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) endorsements. This milestone enhances the department’s operational readiness and reflects the city’s investment in workforce development.
A CDL endorsement allows drivers to operate heavy and specialized vehicles such as dump trucks, bucket trucks, and vacuum trucks—critical equipment for municipal services. Obtaining this license requires extensive training, hands-on experience, and passing state and federal safety exams.
“This is more than just a professional milestone—it’s a demonstration of commitment to excellence,” said Mayor Christine Dobkowski. “When city employees pursue further certifications and expand their skill sets, everyone benefits. Fisher, Henry, and Ronald have taken initiative not only to grow personally and professionally, but also to directly enhance the services we can provide to the residents of Belleview. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and determination.”

Director of Public Works Bob Titterington noted the strategic value of the certifications.
“Our Public Works team plays a vital role in keeping the city running smoothly—from road maintenance to emergency response. Having more team members qualified to operate heavy equipment expands our capabilities tremendously,” said Titterington. “Earning a CDL requires weeks of preparation, hands-on training, and testing. It’s not something that comes easily, and it speaks volumes about these employees’ dedication to their craft and to the City of Belleview.”
With these new endorsements, Belleview is better positioned to handle infrastructure improvements and emergency situations in-house, reducing reliance on contractors and boosting response efficiency.
