OCALA, FL (352today.com) โ After a quick jump early last week, Florida gas prices eased back down over the weekend.
According to AAA – the Auto Club Group – the state average settled at $3.05 per gallon on Sunday. That’s 5 cents higher than a week ago but still 10 cents lower than a month ago, and 51 cents cheaper than this time last year.
Crude oil prices, which account for about half the cost of gasoline, fell 3% last week. Oil closed Friday at $63.02 per barrel, down $1.66 from the week before. Meanwhile, gasoline futures ticked up by 12 cents over the past two weeks.
Locally, drivers in Ocala can find the cheapest gas at the Marathon station at 4596 SE Maricamp Road, where regular unleaded was last seen selling for $2.93 a gallon, according to GasBuddy.com.
