THE VILLAGES, FL (352today.com) – Republican gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds will make a stop in The Villages this week on his “Defending the Florida Dream” campaign tour.
Donalds, who handily won the August 18 Republican midterm primary, will host a Q&A at The Brownwood Hotel & Spa on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. Doors for the event open at 9 a.m., with the appearance running 10-11:30 a.m.
The event is free and public, but attendees must make a reservation here.
Donalds’ recently named running mate, Florida state Senator Bryan Avila, will also be in attendance.
Donalds was last in The Villages at the end of July, appearing on a slate of conservative speakers; before that, he opened for President Donald Trump at The Villages Charter High School.
Donalds and Avila will face off against former Republican David Jolly, now running on the Democratic gubernatorial ticket, and his running mate, former U.S. Senator Gwen Graham.
