OCALA, FL (352today.com) – HCA Florida Ocala Hospital has been recognized as a Regional Resuscitation Center of Excellence, making it the first hospital in Marion County and only the second in Florida to achieve this prestigious designation.
This honor, awarded by the Florida Resuscitation Center Committee (FRCC), recognizes hospitals that meet rigorous standards for cardiac arrest patient care. HCA Florida Ocala Hospital is now designated as a Comprehensive Resuscitation Center, the highest level possible under FRCC guidelines.
With cardiac arrest survival rates in Florida at just 9%, this initiative aims to improve emergency care and patient outcomes.

“It really does take a village to improve outcomes in cases involving out-of-hospital cardiac arrest,” said Alan Keesee, chief executive officer of HCA Florida Ocala Hospital. “This is why we do what we do: To be the best hospital for our community, to improve survivability, and to improve the outcomes for our patients. What I’m most proud of is this team coming to work every single day, being available for our community no matter what. Our logo is ‘We Show Up,’ and we really do show up for our community and we’re proud of this program.”
The hospital’s achievement is backed by cutting-edge resuscitation protocols, advanced critical care technology, and strong collaboration with EMS partners. Additionally, HCA Florida Ocala Hospital promotes community CPR education and is actively involved in cardiac arrest research.
Local and state officials praised the hospital’s leadership in cardiac care, emphasizing its role in setting a new standard for resuscitation excellence across Florida.
