WILLISTON, FL (352today.com) – The equines and equestrians get a lot of attention here in the Horse Capital of the World.

But won’t someone think of the donkeys? Those stubborn pasture protectors, those personality-laden viral video stars, those tough, sometimes so-ugly-they’re-cute iconoclasts of four-legged farm culture?

The organizers of Donkey Daze did, and they’ve created an entertaining, educational and eccentric celebration of equus asinus that’ll be digging in its heels at Tree Line Farm in Williston this Saturday, May 30, 2026.

Donkey lovers can not only come out to show their fandom but also enter (and ride!) their own animals in a slate of events and competitions guaranteed to inspire enthusiastic audience engagement.

The Donkey Daze schedule of events

  • 10 a.m. – Trail Poker Run
  • 11 a.m. – In-Hand Obstacle Course & Barrel Race
  • Noon – Demos and Social Time
  • 1 p.m. – Costume Contest

During and between these events there will be plenty of time to get to know fellow, erm, donkists (donkers?) and learn more about the animal, care, breeding, and more. Attendees can also peruse a variety of vendors and grab a nosh at one of the food trucks.

What’s more, multiple charities will be on hand to showcase how they work to benefit North Central Florida’s animals and environment, and event co-sponsor The Brooke USA Foundation, which works to keep the horses, donkeys and mules that financially insecure families, businesses and communities depend on for income healthy, happy and productive will benefit (and pass those benefits along), as well.

Donkey Daze is free for spectators, and $30 to enter a donkey in the events. A negative Coggins is required for all animals to enter. The event runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Tree Line Farm is located at 20750 NE 30th St. in Williston.
