MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Marion County Sheriff’s Office Division of Emergency Management will host a free hurricane preparedness workshop on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Marion County Emergency Operations Center.
Featured hurricane preparedness topics will include:
- 2026 hurricane season outlook
- Drought and wildfire information
- Insurance education
- Home and business damage reporting information
- Electrical safety
Additionally, representatives from Duke Energy will be on hand for a “Live Wire Demo,” which will ostensibly cover the do’s and don’ts of downed electrical cables.
This event, which runs from 8 a.m. until noon, joins a spate of scheduled programming across the 352 geared around the start of the 2026 hurricane season, which kicks in June 1.
