OCALA, FL (352today.com) – A pilot was taken to the hospital as a trauma-alert patient Wednesday night after a Cessna plane crash-landed in the right-of-way off SW 67th Avenue Road, approximately four miles from Ocala International Airport.
Ocala Police Department responded to the scene and confirmed that the pilot was the only person on board. He is expected to survive, officials said.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will lead the investigation into the cause of the crash. Ocala police stated they are assisting as needed.
No further details have been released about the flight or the pilot’s condition.
