OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Ocala job seekers facing employment hurdles will have a unique opportunity to connect directly with employers during the Nationwide Day of Second Chances job fair on Wednesday, April 30, hosted by the nonprofit Better Together.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Revealing Truth Ministries Outreach Christian Center, local residents can meet with companies ready to hire on the spot — no matter their past. The event is designed for individuals who may struggle with traditional job applications due to previous incarceration, homelessness, resume gaps, or lack of transportation and childcare.
Better Together’s Second Chances initiative partners with churches nationwide to offer “background-friendly” job fairs in supportive environments. In addition to interviews, attendees can access free resume coaching, interview prep, professional clothing, and even haircuts to help them feel confident walking into an interview.
Each job offer or interview is celebrated with the ringing of an “opportunity bell,” symbolizing hope and a fresh start.
Employers and job seekers can still register at BetterTogetherUS.org/NWDSC.
