OCALA, FL (352today.com) — Ocala Police have arrested three people in connection with Thursday’s armed bank robbery and high-speed pursuit that ended near SE Maricamp Road.
According to the Ocala Police Department (OPD), the following individuals were taken into custody:
- Randall Lee Williford, 37, faces charges of robbery with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, and tampering with evidence.
- Amanda Jean Bishop, 34, is charged with robbery with a firearm and fleeing and eluding police with disregard for the safety of people or property.
- Andre Javon Baker, 36, is also charged with robbery with a firearm.
The trio is accused of robbing the TD Bank on SE 17th Street before fleeing in a black pickup truck. Police quickly located the vehicle, leading to a pursuit that ended when it crashed near the 4400 block of SE Maricamp Road. One suspect was shot in the wrist during the incident and is expected to recover.
“We commend the quick actions of our officers in handling this dangerous situation,” OPD said in a statement. “Their great work ensured the safety of the community, and we are grateful that no innocent individuals were harmed during the incident.”
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the officer-involved shooting, which remains an active case.
