City of Gainesville proposes ‘entertainment district’ as a compromise to ending citywide open container ordinance

Votes on reinstating the open container ban and creating an entertainment district will come before the commission again on Thursday, October 26. If approved, they are expected to become effective on January 1, 2024.

Marion County extends hours to get passports and marriage licenses on Sept. 27 through 29
