REDDICK, FL (352today.com) – Familiar faces will once again be seated on the Reddick Town Council.

Mayor-elect John Vetter won with 72.83% of the vote, easily besting his opponent Bob Law to regain a seat he had resigned from in December of 2023 because of Form 6.

“I want to pick up from where I was before, see what I can do to clean up the town a little bit,” said John Vetter, who previously served as mayor for about eight months. “I’m also going to see if I can establish a better rapport with the sheriff and see if it’s possible to have more of a police presence.”

However, John Vetter isn’t the only one returning to council. Shirley Levon Youmans, who also resigned because of Form 6, won with 55.21% of the vote besting her opponent, Kathryn Leskosky, by more than a 10% margin.

The victory had special meaning for Youmans who says he was pleased with the election outcome.

“It means that people trust me, and that we can work together and get some things done in our neighborhood,” said Youmans. “I have their trust and confidence, and I know that I trust them.”

Vetter will be joined by his wife Patricia Vetter, who won with 71.28 % of the vote easily distancing herself from her opponent Kim Law.  She will fill council Seat 3.

The three will join Andrea Barnes, Nadine Stokes and Myra Sherman on the council.
