OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies arrested a 15-year-old after they say that he fired shots during a family argument.

Shots Fired

MCSO responded to an active shooter investigation at a residence on Hemlock Radial Ct. in Ocala on Oct. 18.  Deputies say they arrived to find 15-year-old Jaden Singh lying in the roadway. Deputies approached Singh to check on his well-being and pat him down for weapons. They say Singh began to resist and told deputies he wanted to fight them. Deputies then restrained Singh when they found a firearm in the waistband of his pants.

An investigation into the incident revealed that Singh argued with his family. At some point during the argument, deputies say Singh fired multiple rounds into the ground. Deputies arrested Singh, during which they say he tried to bribe the deputy with $100 in exchange for his release. Unfortunately for Singh, the deputies did not budge.

McDonald’s Incident

Deputies with MCSO were previously investigating a separate incident at the McDonald’s on SE Maricamp Rd. Witnesses reported to deputies that a juvenile approached a customer in a threatening manner and started a physical altercation. They say the juvenile pulled a gun and told the victim he was going to shoot and kill them.  Deputies say that Singh was the juvenile involved.

Outcome

Deputies say Singh continued his violent behavior while being transported to the hospital for evaluation. They say Singh started to kick and hit deputies and hospital security officers. Following his hospital visit, MCSO says Singh was later taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice.

Singh has been charged with:

  • Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
  • Simple Battery
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Juvenile (two counts)
  • Firing a Weapon in a Public Place
  • Bribery of a Public Servant
  • Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer
  • Resisting with Violence
  • Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer (two counts)

Deputies say Singh has been previously arrested for violent felony crimes.
